CAMAQUITO CHILDREN'S CHARITY

Camaquito is a politically and religiously independent international child relief organization. It supports children, teenagers and young adults (18-25 years) in Cuba in the fields of education, sports, culture, health and the environment. Camaquito was founded in 2001 in Switzerland, in 2003 in Germany and in 2016 in Austria. In all countries, Camaquito is a recognized charity for children.

Camaquito’s projects are mainly concentrated in the province of Camagüey, in the heart of Cuba, and in the province of Santiago de Cuba. Individual projects in the capital Havana and in the province Ciego de Ávila are also supported.

Camaquito supports existing Cuban institutions and initiatives according to need and impact, as Camaquito is convinced that the State and the people of Cuba are making exemplary efforts in the fields of education, sports, culture, health and the environment in order to maintain the social achievements in the country or improve them if necessary. For economic reasons, however, the Cuban State cannot fully support all these initiatives with its own resources.

Support is given to infrastructure and leisure projects as well as institutions and activities for people with disabilities.
